Tell me what you are doing

I am sending all your great stories to RotaryGBI HQ to put out a press release similar to this fantastic one from last year https://www.rotarygbi.org/rotary-sets-fundraising-target-bbc-children-in-need/

If you would like your club activity to be mentioned, even if you aren't able to do what you usually do, it is important for every aspect of Rotary's involvement this year to be recognised.

Ideas for fundraising

If you are concerned about your event - please let me know, I am here to support you in all you do to raise money for Children in Need.

It is really important that we keep in touch.

Online raffles - these are a great way to raise funds that would have otherwise been collected at supermarkets or street collections.  See this one organised by Rotary in the Thames Valley www.rotarysupportingchildreninneed.com

Online fun runs/rambles - your supporters can raise their own funds and your Rotary club can assist with coordination - it's a win-win!

Donate Online - BBC Children in Need have created a bespoke website for Rotary supporters to donate online.  We should send our friends the link to help Rotary to raise as much for CiN as possible.  Visit https://donations.bbcchildreninneed.co.uk/rotary

Together, we can...

Look on social media and you will see lots of celebrities holding up one of these cards with an inspirational quote hand-written on it.

Please print this off and create your own, take a picture and post it to social media to show your support - remember to tag RotaryCiN and BBCCiN in all photos!

Click to download a PDF for the best results.
Merchandise

Merchandise is being delivered, some clubs have already received their orders.

If you are delivering merchandise to schools or businesses, please keep the boxes sealed (Ears come in boxes of 20 and there are 4 boxes to an outer, so you can split them into 4s) to avoid further quarantine time.

Act your age!

Children in Need has launched a new fundraising idea, where you do something relating to your age (or combined ages).

For example, my Rotary club is 23 years old this year, so I could encourage all club members to walk 23 miles - let's see how that goes down!

Visit their website for more information https://www.bbcchildreninneed.co.uk/fundraising/act-your-age/

Tracking Historic Donations

I am collating all the donations Rotary has made over the years to CiN.

It is Children in Need's 40th anniversary this year, and I would like to demonstrate how much money Rotary has raised over that period.

Please send me your totals for each year going back as far as you can!

 Map of Clubs

I am adding Rotary clubs that raise money for CiN to an interactive map, which I hope will help target areas where we could do more and also celebrate areas where there is a lot going on!

The map is a living record (not finished) so if your club isn't on it, tell me now, and it soon will be.
