Messiah Family and Friends,
“Beloved, I pray that all may go well with you and that you may be in good health, as it goes well with your soul.” 3 John 1:2 Faith over Fear!
In order to continue in-person worship, Bible studies, and other ministry activities it will now be necessary for all people to wear a mask at all times while at Messiah. This change is due to the rapid increase and spread of the virus and my desire to keep us healthy as we gather to be fed spiritually.
After taking into consideration all the latest trends, the Governor’s news conference on Monday, and in consultation with trusted medical experts, I have made this decision for all ministries of Messiah out of deep love for each of you and for all our guests and staff. I know these decisions have real impact on each of us, but I pray that God will strengthen and defend us as we trust in Him for wisdom to guide us.
This change means that masks must be worn at all times whenever you are in any of the public access parts of Messiah (i.e. Sanctuary, Great Hall, Cafe, Church offices, Bible study and meeting rooms, gym, etc). This includes all worship services, Bible studies, ministry meetings, or any other activities/events indoors at Messiah.
Let me share this reminder again, we are blessed to be able to offer quality Online Worship (9:30am) for those who are still uncomfortable or unsure about attending in-person. We are always united as the Body of Christ whether in-person or at a distance.
Monday evening Communion Services: We celebrate Communion on the 1st and 3rd Sunday’s of each month and also hold a brief Communion service on the Monday following at 6pm - 6:30pm. This service is intended for those who are high risk or uncomfortable coming on Sundays. There is no need to call ahead to attend the Monday evening services.
I know we all pray that this will end soon and I promise you that when I feel it is safe and prudent to do so I will ease back on the mask restrictions. But until that time, please do not let the issue of masks come before your need to be blessed by God through worship and His Word as we receive His grace and return thanks for all His gifts to us.
Again, I gather my executive staff each Monday (or as needed) to discuss all of this, and if any other changes are necessary I will communicate them to you.
If you have any questions about this or other issues, please reach out to us.
In His Grip!
Pastor John Kunze
