Donations for Orphan Grain Train September 20-27
Steve Sirek is the manager of the new Lincoln area Orphan Grain Train donation center. He's got a great story to share that tells his history with OGT.
We'll be collecting donated items of clothing of all sizes and kinds as our Make a Difference Sunday efforts for 2020. Three donation barrels will be in the Great Hall. They accept any kind of clothing that is in good condition — new undies of all sizes and socks are always needed. This clothing is shipped all over the world, so both summer and winter clothes are appreciated.
Financial donations can also be made to Orphan Grain Train!
In addition to meeting in person, Gracepoint offers online tele-health appointments. The counselors at Gracepoint seek to be an extension of the healing ministry of Jesus Christ. Our vision is to promote mental, spiritual, emotional, and relational health and well-being in those who come to us for counseling and enrichment services. For more info click here
You can help restore homes at King Lake! We could use more help at King Lake as the cold weather approaches. We finished the home of the Marine who lost his leg in an accident, and we are now working on three other homes, each one in its unique state of repair—or disrepair.
Pictured are Barry Radebaugh and Mike of King Lake, holding some samples of donated facia stone that will be applied to Mike’s mother's home. Barry also received gently used hardwood flooring for one home and enough vinyl siding for several houses. If you know of surplus building items, please contact Stan Fehlhafer.
We always need helping hands of all skill levels. Meet us at Messiah's parking lot at 7:15a. Tools, equipment, and lunch are provided. We'll return some time after 5:30. Volunteers at King Lake work to care for the physical and spiritual needs of flood victims, as they restore homes in the area. Sign up here to volunteer in September.
We are excited to provide you with resources for your very own, just the way you want it, IF:Messiah DIY Event, and it's free! Click here for more info!
