Thank you for warming heads, hands, and hearts!
Once again, you've shown an abundance of love and care for the children of Everett Elementary by so generously donating items they need. Just imagine: 320 little heads wearing their new hats, 173 kiddos with new mittens or gloves keeping their hands toasty, and 26 children with new scarves. Thank you!
The Baby Dresser Project
The Baby Dresser project shows our love and support for parents and their unborn children, and also raises our voices against abortion. We're collecting baby items for the Pregnancy Center, University Lutheran Chapel, City Mission, Home in a Box families, and our own Messiah friends. Items may be placed by the dressers in the Great Hall during the month of January.

The Walk begins at 10:00a on the north steps of the Nebraska State Capitol. From there, we will walk to the Newman Center, 320 N. 16th St., where our Keynote Speaker, Sarah Zagorski, will speak at noon. Click here for more details.

Marie Faas, a longtime and faithful member of Messiah, was called home to heaven on January 5, 2021. Please keep Marie’s daughter, Anita, and the family in your prayers. Only family will be present for a private service on Monday, January 11, at 10:00a. The service will be live-streamed through Roper and Sons here. A visitation will be held from 11:00a-5:00p. on Sunday, January 10, at Roper and Sons’ Midtown Chapel, 4300 ‘O’ St. The family has requested that memorials be given to Messiah Lutheran Church or the People’s City Mission.

Happy 52nd Anniversary to Jan & Janet Perrin

Here's a great way to serve at Messiah!
Altar Care consists of communion setup and cleanup, filling the candles, and general tidying up of the altar area. Volunteers work together in pairs or groups, and we need 8-10 more people on our team. Contact Diane 402.430.4700 or Doneta 402.489.5103 for more information and the actual duties.
Our Café is temporarily closed.
The owners of Rock n Joe Coffee initially sought and received approval from the City of Lincoln to partner with Messiah but were recently informed that there are some details that need to be cleared up in order to continue offering coffee service at Messiah. We hope that this is only temporary and will keep you informed along the way, but for now Rock n Joe will not be open at Messiah on Sundays or during the week.
