Saving money as we outfit our new building

When we combine the $75,000 we budgeted for furnishings in our Forward in Faith campaign with the $38,000 we raised from Give to Lincoln Day, we're able to purchase many of the items needed to give our new building a great start!

We're also trying to stretch those dollars by finding some very gently used furnishings, that are high quality.  We've connected with a place in Omaha that specializes in gently used office furnishings to find some pieces like these:

• Moving mini-tables that will fit perfectly up against a teacher desk for when  a student needs some individual attention  (we have one for every classroom)

• Lockable storage units for under teacher desks (we have one for every classroom)

• High stools for one of the creative learning areas in our upper level learning commons. (we were able to buy a set of 4 of these)

Each of these items above were things we wanted for our new building, but buy picking them up through our new connection in Omaha, we saved between 75-90% on each of these items when compared to the cost to buy new.

We were also able to get desks for all of the classrooms, chairs for our new meeting rooms and our music room, and moveable whiteboards for a few different places.  Thanks be to God for providing us with the money to purchase many items, but also the avenue to make that money stretch as far as we can.

A Financial Report from Erik Borgmeyer

In June we need an average of $45,859 each week in tithes and offerings each week. After the first week, we were almost $10,000 ahead of this amount, but now that two weeks have gone by, we're just over $2,000 ahead of our needed amount.

Our campaign income this month is just under $20,000.  We have 9 months left in our Forward in Faith campaign.  We still have almost $400,000 to collect from 89 households who have made a pledge, but have still only been able to turn in 50% or less of the amount they pledged.

If you made a pledge to our Forward in Faith campaign, and are financially able to fulfill that pledge, we ask that you do so as soon as you're able.  If you were not able to give to the campaign, but now have found God has blessed you financially, please pray about helping us keep the cost of our building loan down.  We have already received over $100,000 in this way and we're very thankful for it!
