We're gathering food donations to prepare Thanksgiving Baskets (meals) for families in need within our congregation and our community. You can donate a turkey, which we'll keep in the freezer until delivery. Other items you can donate are: potatoes, stuffing, canned vegetables, gravy, pumpkin pies, dinner rolls, etc. You can donate up to and including the morning of Sunday, November 22nd. We'll prepare the baskets that morning, and make deliveries after the 9:30 service. This is a great outreach to these families, and it is also a very rewarding experience for the deliverers too! All deliverers will be required to wear masks during the deliveries. If you'd like to deliver baskets, please contact Kevin & Sarah Kohlhof402.540.8514.
Congregational Voting info is very different this year!
Click here for more info on the items we'll vote on:
• the proposed ministry plan (budget) for the upcoming year
• to elect Lay Leadership Board Members to 3-year terms
• to ratify the Messiah Foundation Board
Don't miss the info meeting that will be held via Zoom on Monday, Nov. 16 at 6:30pm
Donations needed for the purchase of Two Angel Trees
The Angel tree we've used for years needs to be replaced, and we now need two of them – one for Angel Tree Christmas gifts, and the other for hats, scarves, mittens, and gloves for Everett Elementary students!
Beginning Sunday, November 29, you have the opportunity to (a) donate toward the purchase of Angel Tree gifts, (b) pull an ornament off the Angel Tree and purchase a gift yourself, and (c) donate hats, scarves, mittens and gloves on our second Angel Tree.
We already have a donation of $30 toward the purchase of the new trees! If you'd like to donate toward the purchase of our new Angel Trees, please contact Scott Guenther orKatherine Ruder.
Don't miss our Videos!
We're using YouTube to post many of our videos now, including content from confirmation, children's ministry, and announcements from the pastors. Coming in November, we'll have a whole series of Christmas memories videos that our staff has recorded.
To make sure you don't miss any of them, go to YouTube and subscribe to our channel.
Operation Christmas Child Through November 22
These shoeboxes — packed with hygiene items, clothing, school supplies, and toys — will go to countries where children have likely never received a gift of any kind. Along with the shoebox, they will hear the Gospel and be invited to participate in a 12-week discipleship program. Hundreds of thousands of children have become Christ-followers through the simple gift of a shoebox! As one Pastor said, “A child who knows Jesus is like a seed being planted in his or her family and community.”
We have boxes and instructions Great Hall, available weekdays (during office hours), Wednesday nights, and Sunday mornings. Filled shoeboxes can be dropped off here at church, along with a $9 per box donation to cover shipping cost. All shoeboxes must be returned no later than Sunday, November 22. Thank you! Contact Bethany Werneror Lindy Karlin 402.429.6961 for more info. Click here or on the graphic above to learn more about Operation Christmas Child.
