What is the Lay Leadership Board? We usually refer to the Lay Leadership Board as the LLB. The LLB is a group of 12 congregation members who serve 3-year terms, voted into office during an annual congregational vote.
What Does the Board Do? They meet monthly to develop the Mission, Vision and Core Values of Messiah; they assist in setting policies and developing our strategic plan; and they monitor the strategies, goals, and results of the Pastors and Staff.
Your response to Messiah’s Make a Difference Sunday was overwhelming! Thank you! Your donations are a blessing to the people Orphan Grain Train serves. We provide humanitarian aid, medicine, medical equipment, and food (mercy meals) to 69 countries around the world.
A special thank you to the volunteers who sort and pack at the Orphan Grain Train Collection Center here in Lincoln. Volunteers and donors form the backbone of this Mission Ministry. You, too, can be a missionary and help people meet the bare necessities of life, and those who face natural disasters. Contact Steve Sirek

Tangled Inside: What do we do with all these emotions?
Heidi Goehmann (see bio below) is an excellent presenter who will engage both children and adults in a conversation about a Biblical perspective on emotions. Our desire for this presentation is to help children and parents put words to these emotions, what to do with them, and to celebrate how God created us!
Bio: Heidi is a deaconess and licensed independent mental health professional, which is a fancy way of saying she loves Jesus and figuring out how our brains work. She writes and makes videos about those things at heidigoehmann.com. She loves her giant dog, Star Wars, hockey, adventures, and new ideas. She lives in Norfolk, Nebraska, with her husband, four kids, and 1.5 dogs in her not-quite tiny house.
Home in a Box helps families coming out of homelessness by providing household items for their home. Currently, they are in need of the following items: full, twin, and queen size sheets, pillowcases, comforters, chests of drawers, and love seats. You may bring items on Sunday mornings or 8:30-4:00 weekdays. Thank you! Contact Gene Troester
Just a reminder from the Health Care Ministry Team to get your annual flu vaccination. It is recommended for people 6 months and older particularly for high risk patients with asthma, diabetes, heart disease and other chronic conditions. It is not too early to get it and takes about 2 weeks to achieve effectiveness.
