We're Glad to See More People Returning to Worship
Pastor John shares some important words regarding masks and the DHM in Lincoln.
It’s finally time to celebrate and pray over the beautiful new building addition at Messiah!
11:45a Sunday, August 30  (approx. length 20-30 minutes)

We want to make this a very special day of thanking God for the completion of the new addition, as well as praying over (or around) all of our buildings that are dedicated to carrying out the Lord’s work in this community.

Prayer is powerful and important as we seek to follow God’s vision and mission for Messiah, and the prayers of the Body of Christ are powerful and effective (James 5:16). This is a wonderful time to pray over the buildings where many of the ministries of Messiah take place.

When we started construction a year and a half ago, we had a big Groundbreaking ceremony filled with joy and anticipation. Back then we had envisioned a more involved dedication celebration with worship and a lot of fellowship, but in light of our current circumstances we will make the best of the situation as we thank God for this amazing addition. We can’t wait to see you there as we all gather together!!

Where: Park in the upper lot or gravel lot and then gather in the lower parking lot where we gathered for the Groundbreaking ceremony. While outside masks are not required with distancing.

Worship: If you plan on attending the 11am in-person worship service, note that the service will be ½ hour long, after which we will move from the sanctuary to the lower lot. If you plan to attend in-person or online worship earlier in the morning, please join us at 11:45am in the lower lot.

What: This will be a dedication by prayer. We will gather for some opening words, prayer, and music. We will pass out prayer instructions, then disperse to surround the entire Messiah building complex. We will take a few minutes to pray over all the ministries of Messiah that take place within the buildings God has blessed us with. After that time of prayer the dedication will be complete.

Bonus: After the dedication we will host brief tours of the new building in small groups. Masks will be required for those who wish to walk through.

Inclement Weather Notice: If the weather is bad on the 30th we will postpone the dedication and communicate an alternate date as soon as it is scheduled.
We had a fantastic first day of school.

Messiah's Outreach Team & Mustard Seeds Sewers provide masks for Everett Elementary

LPS is providing each child 2 masks per school year. Everett Elementary Principal, Mike Long, knew some masks would get lost or soiled, and he needed a backup supply. Messiah's Outreach Team (ACTS) partners with Everett Elementary, so he reached out to Gene Troester and requested some children’s reusable cloth face masks. Gene then contacted the Mustard Seeds Group at Messiah, whose volunteers donated 150 masks that they sewed from donated fabric. A member of the group lives in the Everett neighborhood and volunteered to be the mask fixer for the year for the school. Praise God!

Thanks to the efforts of over 3000 volunteers, King Lake has many happy residents who have been able to return to their rebuilt houses! There are homes that still need finishing up though, such as the house for a Marine who uses a wheelchair for mobility, and another house to be a special ministry house.
