Chillin' in the sun with mates #summerfun

Dear OxGrowers,

Recently we've been spending most of our time weeding and watering, quite frequently stopping to admire the garden. It looks its best at this time of year, and changes almost daily. Everyone who comes in after a week or two of absence is just astounded with how it's 'exploded' - everything is getting taller and bigger each day. Do come and check it out this Sunday!

If you're new to gardening, now is a good time to join in as it is a less hectic time than earlier in the year, and most of the jobs are pretty straightforward. And if you've been before, you will definitely enjoy seeing how well the crops you've planted have been doing.

This week we will mainly focus on:

- weeding
- watering
- picking ready vegetables and herbs
- looking after the wormery
- tending to the polytunnel (watering, weeding, tying up tomatoes)

Please remember to bring some bags or tubs e.g. tupperware, old ice cream/biscuit box or similar to carry your veg home. We are trying to cut down on using plastic bags.

Remember Hogacre Cafe (in the pavillion) is open every Sunday throughout the summer serving up quiche, sandwiches, soups, cakes and other treats.

Sundays: garden open 1pm - 5pm-ish
Wednesdays: garden open 4pm - 8pm(ish)

Please feel free, as usual, to bring anything that we can share during our tea & cake break - home-cultivated sprouts, breads and any type of baked goods are always welcome!
See you in the garden!

Our wormest wishes,

Team OxGrow
