Friday 18th January 2019

Dear OxGrowers,

We seem to have broken through the cold spell, and hopefully spring is on its way! Last session the garden was under a blanket of snow but the weather forecast for the next session will be much warmer. After it snows, snowdrops always peek their heads up. Have you spotted any lately? Soon the daffodils will come out, we can't wait!

Our next session is Sunday 17th February, 12PM-3PM
Sessions currently run on the 1st & 3rd Sunday of the month. In the spring, sessions will run weekly - stay posted for updates!

What's on in the Garden

We have compiled the seed inventory (thank you everyone for helping complete it) and have ordered some new seeds! In the meantime we are going to start cultivating new seedlings in the polytunnels.

We have also dug out a BRAND NEW BED inside the larger polytunnel, to make use of the space, so we can grow more things while it's cold. We're also ordering some more wood so we can fix all the raised beds, and build some more!

Events & Opportunities

Weekend and Day Courses with Incredible Edible

February - July 2019 (Oxford)
Hosted by Incredible Edible Oxford

Incredible Edible are hosting a wide range of workshops where you can learn a whole host of interesting new skills that we think would be very interesting to many of you Oxgrowers. Courses such as Introduction to Permaculture, Edible Hanging Baskets, Using Edible Flowers in Cooking, Foraging Walks and lots of other exciting things to learn! Check out their Facebook page here

Library of Things has launched in Oxford

The library consists of practical items that you only use occasionally and don't need to own individually, such as good quality camping gear, DIY tools and sports equipment. It's a great way to reduce waste, save money, and build a culture of sharing and re-use. You can find out more here.

Join our NEW volunteers' facebook group here.

That's all for this month's newsletter, see you in the garden!
Our wormest wishes,
OxGrow
