Our next session is Sunday 14th November, 12PM-3PM
Sessions currently run on the every Sunday of the month.
Hello beginner and experienced growers,
Oxgrow's newsletter is back to update you on the latest news and tasks to do on the field.
New volunteers are always welcome! Just walk in the front gate and we'll come and greet you.
Sessions are now starting at 12pm and ending at 3pm to make better use of the limited daylight.
Tasks this coming session:
This week we'll be planting more broad beans in the harvest beds. After that we'll be weeding the raised planters and harvesting chard, kale and herbs. We'll also be mowing the lawn, doing some scything, strimming, cutting back the brambles and preparing the empty beds for winter.
Then finally at the end of the session we'll be having a tea and biscuits break before tidying up.
Rules for your safety:
Please start the session by sanitising your hands. If you are able to feel free to wear a mask during the session.
Please bring your own gloves, hand tools if you have them, and hand sanitiser. We'll be practising social distancing so it's important to stay at least 2m away from others and there is a limit of 2 people in a polytunnel at a time.
To help protect other volunteers you can now receive free at-home 30 min covid tests. https://www.gov.uk/order-coronavirus-rapid-lateral-flow...
Please do not attend if you have been unwell in the last 14 days or have come into contact with someone who has. If you have a smart phone please install the NHS covid app before attending. https://www.nhs.uk/apps-library/nhs-covid-19/
See you Sunday!
