Board of Directors Representative Application 

Would you like to represent your cluster area as a Board of Director representative? The application is open! 

The NEW DEADLINE to apply is Wednesday, May 19th by 5:00 pm. 


In 2019, it was voted upon by SkillsUSA Georgia professional members that an amendment be made to the Articles of Incorporation and Bylaws for SkillsUSA Georgia. The following amendment was adopted: 

ARTICLE VIII THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS 
Section 2 
The Board of Directors of the Corporation will consist of twelve (12) members of whom six (6) shall be teacher representatives (one from six (6) cluster/pathway areas); six (6) shall be industry representatives (one from six (6) cluster/pathway areas). These six (6) pathway areas include: (1) Architecture/Construction/Metals, (2) Transportation, (3) Graphics, (4) Arts, A/V Technology and Communications, (5) Public Safety, (6) Cosmetology. In addition to these twelve (12) representatives, the Board of Directors of the Corporation will also include one (1) CTAE Local Administrator, one (1) Member at Large, one (1) President, one (1) Past-President, one (1) DOE ACCT Program Specialist (Ex-Officio), and one (1) SkillsUSA GA State Director (Ex-Officio). 

This year, SkillsUSA Georgia is electing new members in the below cluster areas: 
 
  • Architecture/Construction/Metals
  • Arts, A/V Technology and Communication 
  • Public Safety 
  • Transportation 
    • The Transportation Representative position is also open for the SkillsUSA Georgia Board of Directors. If interested, please complete the application by Wednesday, May 19th by 5:00 pm. 
Application Requirements 

If you are an advisor in the above trade areas and are interested in being on the SkillsUSA Georgia Board of Directors, please review the below requirements and submit your application by Wednesday, May 19th by 5:00 pm. 

Required Prerequisites: 
  1. Professional member for the last 3 years. 
  2. Chapter has been at least a quality chapter for the last 3 years. 
  3. Attended Champions Rally OR Fall Leadership Conference for the last 3 years. 
  4. Attended the State Leadership and Skills Conference for the last 3 years. 
  5. Chapter does not owe any outstanding dollars to SkillsUSA or SkillsUSA Georgia. 
Application includes:
  1. Short essay: Briefly describe the value of the SkillsUSA Framework as it relates to your classroom and chapter.
  2. Short essay: Please explain to your peers as to why you would like to represent them on the SkillsUSA Georgia Board of Directors. 
  3. A letter of support from your CTAE Director. 
  4. A photo of yourself.
