CHAPTER EXCELLENCE PROGRAM DUE WEDNESDAY
We would love to help complete the tenth phase of CEP with you by celebrating your students’ success at the State Leadership and Skills Conference.
Upon completion of the Level 1 Application and becoming a Quality Chapter, your chapter will receive recognition in our new conference app. But, you could earn more! In order to be recognized on stage at the SLSC, your chapter will need to complete the Level 1 Application and complete the Level 2 Application by Wednesday, February 5th.

ADVISOR OF THE YEAR APPLICATION DUE WEDNESDAY
The Advisor of the Year award honors dedicated career and technical education instructors who serve as SkillsUSA advisors. A new process has been put in place by the national office, and upon completion of the Chapter of Excellence Level 2 Application an advisor can apply to be considered the SkillsUSA Georgia Advisor of the Year. A panel will decide the State Advisor of the Year, where they will be submitted to the regional competition. During the national conference, finalists are interviewed and a national winner is selected.
1. Chapter of Excellence Level 2: Chapter of Distinction. In order to submit an AOY application, the Advisor's school must have completed Level 2 of the Chapter Excellence Program and submitted the CEP Application online. More information on the Chapter Excellence Program can be found here: https://www.skillsusa.org/programs/chapter-excellence-program/
2. Joined Professional Member of SkillsUSA. In addition, the AOY nominee must have joined SkillsUSA as a Professional Member in the year of the National nomination.
Our application deadline for the Advisor of the Year application is February 5th, 2020.
Students are only allowed to register to compete onsite in one contest. However, they are allowed to compete in a pre-submission contest as well. The pre-submission contests are:

Please download the rules under the Georgia Only Contest and follow the guidelines that are listed in the document. The projects should be uploaded via the link in the document by the deadline listed.

If your school needs to be at the same hotel as another school in your system due to logistical needs please complete the official housing request:
Please note: All schools MUST stay in a conference hotel unless they are commuting. If you are commuting, your school must be less than 25 miles from the Georgia World Congress Center. If you wish to commute, you must first email Ashley Brown, the SkillsUSA Georgia State Director at email@example.com.
Update: SkillsUSA Georgia will not provide a hotel preference form this year. Instead, we will work to place schools who have historically not been at the host hotel at the Omni Atlanta Hotel. We will alter schools between the Omni Atlanta Hotel and the Westin Peachtree Plaza every two years.

VOTING DELEGATE EXPERIENCE - REGISTRATION DUE WEDNESDAY
New at this year’s State Leadership and Skills Conference is the new and improved voting delegate experience, Election 2020: SkillsUSA Georgia State Officer Election. Delegates from all across the state are invited to attend an afternoon of education, centered around the Essential Elements of Decision Making and Responsibility. This event culminates with the 2020 State Officer Election, the process that selects SkillsUSA Georgia’s top student leaders for the following school year.
